Lyrics: Our plates are laid richly and yet we starve We dye the night in neon light and still walk blindly through the dark We stroll around with a frozen frown and hinge our self at any spark So we constantly gather and then we fall apart I won't sign my name with your ink of blood I won't build my home on a hollow ground - all sinking down when comes the flood When comes the flood? When comes the flood? When comes the flood? When comes the flood?

There's too many preachers where talk is cheap Too many preachers with their tongue in their cheek Too many preachers, let them preach I don't, I don't need no judge to know what's wrong And I don't need no home to know that my roots are strong I don't, I don't need no judge to know what's wrong And I don't need no home to know that my roots are strong There's too many preachers where talk is cheap Too many preachers, let them preach

Sliver 07:21
Our violence is privat, safe behind doors For the many, if not for all Everyday is war, the everyday war Can't you hear the terror - lurkin', scratching, screeching through the wall They sell isolation as a means to be free Tidal waves of manufactured dreams Ever changing on infinite repeat Hard wired, custom made identity Preconceived and so constrained reality So take all your devices, your monitors and screens And plug 'em all into me Make my mind feed the machinery Don't you know - every sliver is part of the whole Don't you know - we all share the same soul Don't you know - every sliver is part of the whole Don't you know - we all share the same soul I willingly choose to see the unity within diversity I willingly choose to see the unity within diversity I willingly choose to see the unity within diversity Don't you know - every sliver is part of the whole Don't you know - we all share the same soul Don't you know - every sliver is part of the whole Don't you know - we all share the same soul

See my eyes are weak from starin' into shadows Heavy are the words we speak even when they're hollow Hear the sound so free from beyond all our sorrow Whose is the ground beneath, whose the sky we borrowed? Whose is the truth we preach, who set the rules we follow? Bleak seems the world I see when dreaming of tomorrow Who tells the story? Who put the black beneath the white? Who tells the story? Who sorts the left from the right? Who tells the story - If not you and I?
6.
My sister she's a pretty - when she smiles My sister she's a pretty - when she smiles Now when he put her in a cage nearby He sure meant no harm But to preserve her smile So he might not have known How he built the chain that binds My sister was a pretty - when she smiled My sister was a pretty - when she smiled Now she's a captive by all of our confines So we're all captive in a jail made of mind Now she's got a river A river in her eyes No one is free until all are free No one is free until all are free No one is free until all are free
7.
Safe & Sound 07:04
I wear my face like a crown While I, while I feel it raining inside And sometimes, sometimes All the colors leave me blind And sometimes I wonder why, Wonder why it's so hard to smile I wear my skin when I'm 'round town And grasp for breath like I could drown My mind at war, you see me frown But in the clouds I am safe and sound I wear my face like a crown While I, while I feel it raining inside And sometimes, sometimes Sometimes I wonder why It's so hard, so hard for me to smile I know there's love, though there's no proof Show me the difference between me and you And tell me is this real - or just a dream? Tell me is this real or is it just a dream?

about

"There are colours and textures to be found in the grooves that inhabit The Subtle & The Dense that when combined with the albums rich vocal tones and its intelligent lyrical content takes the bands music out of the realms of the ordinary and into the realms of the otherworldly." (stonerking1.blogspot.com)

"Hard guitar rock, garnished with aggressive, dark and melancholic elements flows through songs that often merge into one another with a session character and blues rock references." (www.curt-muenchen.de/samsara-joyride/)

“The Subtle And The Dense is one of those records that you have to get involved with, but which rewards all your effort and interest twice or threefold." (www.demonic-nights.at/2024/02/samsara-joyride-the-subtle-and-the-dense/)

"As philosophical as the thematic approaches of this album are, the diversity of the music seems appropriate. Between desert sand and whiskey bar, the album develops a fundamentally life-affirming spirit" (www.musikreviews.de/reviews/2024/Samsara-Joyride/The-Subtile-and-the-Dense/)

"rarely has an album title been so accurate and in tune with the music. Samsara Joyride play delicate tones mixed with stoner rock, electric blues and trippy as hell segments. And they way they blend this is so perfectly in tune with the name 'The Subtle And The Dense'. Take a listen or a thousand and you know what I mean." (outlawsofthesun.blogspot.com/2024/03/samsara-joyride-subtle-and-dense-album.html)

"the most authentic stoner blues from Vienna since there has been authentic stoner blues from Vienna." (www.betreutesproggen.de/2024/01/samsara-joyride-the-subtle-and-the-dense/)

"Seven songs that seem to me like a road trip / joyride through the swamps of the southern United States." (time-for-metal.eu/samsara-joyride-the-subtle-and-the-dense/)

"These shamanic songs advance, becoming richer with greater forcefulness and perfectly structured harmonies to appear to the listener as a true delight for the ears." (denpafuzz.com)

"Somewhere in the everlasting cycle of life and death, cause and effect, the quartet goes their way. They share thoughts on power structures, and distribution of goods and freedom. Sober, dedicated to walk on, and undeterred, they continue on their endless joyride." (mangowave-magazine.com/reviews/samsara-joyride-the-subtle-and-the-dense/)

"Lyrically, this album is so deeply rooted in the blues that it’s sprouting branches. The blues have always been about overcoming life’s many hardships, and that is what’s at the core of The Subtle and the Dense. And what could be heavier than staring the reality of existence in the eyes?" (noobheavy.com/album-review-samsara-joyride-the-subtle-and-the-dense/)

"Samsara Joyride are firm in their belief that because something is bluesy or classic doesn’t necessarily mean it needs to be simple." (theobelisk.net/obelisk/)

"without that main source of energy provided by our sun god the previous 12 hours of the day, the music of Samsara Joyride is the light that guides us at night." (www.lahabitacion235.com/musica/novedades/samsara-joyride-the-subtle-and-the-dense-2024)

"The Subtle and the Dense is more than just an album - it's an experience." (amplified-mag.de/reviews/psychedelischer-trip-samsara-joyrides-the-subtle-and-the-dense)

The production is based on a live recording, played in over the course of a weekend, using a combination of restored vintage tube mixers and compressors as well as contemporary digital recording technology. Further recording sessions followed, rounding out the tracks with overdubbing layers of instrumental tracks and eventually all the vocals.

about

Samsara Joyride Vienna, Austria

What started at the beginning of 2020 with spontaneous jam sessions in a Viennese living room led within a few months into the locally produced “Stranger” EP. And those kindred spirits who soon agreed on the band name SAMSARA JOYRIDE continued to relish their melange between heavy-blooded seventies blues rock and the bone-dry psychedelic sounds of the 1990s. ... more
